Activity 15

ACTIVITY 15: KNOWLEDGE MOBILIZATION.

Knowledge mobilization is integral to achieving the aims of the project. We have identified four audiences: the interested public, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), experts working in areas related to CDR, and public policy makers.

Throughout the project, we will introduce interested public audiences to the concept and the possibilities of CDR through public seminars (in-person and online). These seminars will allow the project team to test different ways of communicating information, supporting effective communications throughout the course of the project.

As the project progresses, we will have a growing body of knowledge about the Canada-specific performance and factors impacting the potential for CDR. We intend to communicate these findings to an expert audience through a workshop on CDR, which we will also use to seek feedback on our findings and future methods. We aim to publish these research results in open access, peer-reviewed scholarly journals. To increase the accessibility of these results to non-academic audiences, they will be reported on the project website in plain English (e.g., in blog posts and briefs), through seminars for the interested public, and briefings to policy makers.

In the project’s later stages, we will communicate information on Canada-specific potential to the interested public and experts and, in addition, present the policy makers with considerations for development of effective CDR policy. We will also hold a final expert workshop to disseminate research results in Canada (and beyond). Key findings from the project will be captured in final reports available on the public website, as well as in peer-reviewed journals. Collectively, these findings will deepen the understanding of CDR potential in Canada and support development of effective policies that could enable sustainable, equitable, cost-effective, and rapid deployment of appropriate CDR technologies.
